Allister is a Certified Financial Planner and has more than 20 years’ experience in financial services. He completed his articles of clerkship (accounting) in Cape Town in 1989 and then joined Norwich Life as a Broker Consultant. Thereafter he joined Syfrets as Regional Head of Broker Services in. Thereafter, he spent several years with Alexander Forbes, first as a Personal Financial Planner, and then as a consultant to trustees of retirement funds, specializing in Member education. Allister published and edited a quarterly financial newsletter for members of retirement funds. Allister joined Global Alliance in 2010 and currently heads up the Life and Pensions Division and the Bancassurance Division.

Sheila started her career as Lawyer in 2004, she was responsible for Labor department in a Lawyer firm called Gilberto Correia in Beira city where she was appointed as GM. After 4 year as Lawyer she started working in HR at Unitrans Mozambique as HR Regional Manager.

ANTON NORTJE

Anton started his career in the IT environment at various large Pharmaceutical companies like Aventis and MSD as a junior IT Technician in 1998 and worked his way up to become the IT manager at a research house called Millward Brown in 2003. At Millward Brown he was in charge of all IT infrastructure for the whole Africa region. Duties included maintenance and configuring of equipment and setting up new offices throughout north east Africa. Anton is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and has studied many other courses to stay in touch with today’s technology. Anton joined Global Alliance in February 2010 as Group IT manager and recently joined the Mozambique branch.

HAGIRA CHICO

Hagira has started her career as credit controller in 2005 working at Emose. In 2011, she decided to move looking for new challenges and exercised activities as a trainer in basic accounting for a Bank Institution. In October 2011 she decided to embrace the opportunity to work as credit controller again and joined Global Alliance. In June 2014 she was promoted to credit control manager. She studied at Universidade Eduardo Mondlane and holds a degree in Economy since 2013.

Nahida studied and Matriculated in South Africa, she did her 1st Year in Marketing and Business Management in 1999 at Damelin College, started her career with Motorcare in 2000-2001 as Sales Assistant & Representative, then moved to Global Alliance Seguros Mozambique in 2001 as Underwriter PA, then promoted to Underwriting Assistant, and further her studies in COP & ICIBS in 2003-2005 at Institute of Insurance of South Africa, subsequently in 2008-2009 promoted to Accounts Executive and later to Supervisor Underwriter and now she is currently heading up the Underwriting Department as the Underwriting Manager for Global Alliance Seguros – Insurance in Mozambique

Hilton studied Economics and Management at Port Elizabeth University, started his career with Global Alliance Mozambique in 2004 as a Credit Control Technician, in 2006 he was promoted to a supervisor position, then promoted in 2010 as the Credit Control Manager. In October 2011 he was appointed to head up the newly established Bancassurance Division.

DIANE SMITH

Diane started her career in the insurance industry some 29 years ago, with Incorporated General Insurances in 1983. During her term with IGI, she worked at various branches throughout South Africa in capacity as Claims Manager and Regional Claims Manager. In 1992 she left the company to start a family, and in 1994, joined Truck and General Underwriters Lone Hill as Claims Manager. Later she transferred to their Cape Town office as Regional Claims Manager. Global Insurance invited her to join them in 1996 as Office Manager. In1998 Diane decided to join Taga Insurance as Claims Manager to focus again on claims which is her passion. In 2000 she was head hunted by Dominium Risk Management and she decided to join the group, who later became part of LGI Risk Management in 2004, and here she took up the position of Office Manager once again. The Company diversified, and as Zenith Product Design became part of the Hollard Insurance Company stable where she took up the position of General Manager. In 2010 Diane could not resist the challenge when approached, to return to Corporate claims once again, and joined Global Alliance in Mozambique.

FRANCISCA SUEGE

Francisca studied Political Science and Public Management at the Universidade Pedagógica in Maputo and started her insurance career at Premium Brokers. In 2008 she joined Global Alliance Mozambique as a Service Consultant and has been promoted to the Administration Manager in 2013.

NÁCER MONDLANE
Manager – Life & Pensions Division

Nácer studied Business Administration in Brazil, where he worked for the Regional Board of Engineering Architecture and Agronomy of Minas Gerais (CREA-MG). It was in Brazil that Nácer had his first exposure in the Insurance Industry, through a broker consulting firm – TGL Consulting. He started his career with Global Alliance Mozambique in 2011 as a Pension Fund Administrator in the newly created Pension Fund Administration platform, within the Life & Pensions Division. In 2012, with the Team managed by Allister Langford, they approved the Global Alliance Open Fund (GAOF), the first umbrella fund in Mozambique. Recently, Nácer´s contribution to the Global Alliance Pension Fund Division was duly recognized in his appointment as Manager of the Life and Pensions Division. Nácer, and the Life & Pensions Team, approach their operational responsibilities with our corporate values foremost in mind: Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence and Stewardship.
